A Toxicological Perspective on E-cigarette, or Vaping, Product UsE
Associated Lung Injury (EVALI)
As part of the virtual edition of the Society of Toxicology 2020 TV, created in partnership with WebsEdge, we talk with University of New Mexico Professor and SOT Member Matthew Campen. Matthew discusses e-cigarette, or vaping, product use-associated lung injury (EVALI) and addresses the lack of health science knowledge in this area, as well as the need for regulatory oversight. Toxicologists are researching the components of e-cigarette juice to help assess health effects and safety, while also exploring what happens to a person’s lungs after use.
